
Discovery Camps
For children ages 7 and 8 entering 2nd and 3rd Grade in the fall. Arts & Sciences offers fun and affordable summer camps that embody our school culture of honoring the whole child – cognitive, social and emotional development. Camps are led by experienced teachers and groups are divided by age. Camp activities are uniquely designed to meet the abilities and interests of each age group to foster a memorable summer camp experience.
CAMP TIMES: Monday through Friday 9:00am-3:00pm.
Before Care (8:30am-9:00am) $10/day
After Care (3:00pm-5:00pm) $25/day
COST: Camps are $350 per week with no additional fees for materials. Financial Aid is available. ECECD Child Care Assistance subsidies accepted.

Week 1 – Mystery Detectives
June 9 – June 13 Cost of Camp $350
Children become junior detectives, solving mysteries and puzzles throughout the week. Campers will create secret codes, follow treasure map trails, solve a mystery challenge every day, and learn basic forensic science, like fingerprinting.

Week 2 – Time Traveler’s Adventure
June 16 – June 20 Cost of Camp $350
Kids travel to different historical periods or eras each day. Campers will build a time machine, engage in themed crafts and games related to different eras (like Ancient Egypt, the Wild West, or the Renaissance), and learn about historical figures through interactive storytelling.

Week 3 – Animal Kingdom Safari
June 23 – June 27 Cost of Camp $350
A safari-themed adventure where kids learn about wildlife and animal habitats. Campers will create paper mache animal masks, experience guided “safaris” in parks or nature reserves, build miniature habitats, and role-play as different animals or zookeepers in games.

Week 4 – Land of Enchantment
July 7 – July 11 Cost of Camp $350
Do you know how many thousands of acres of amazing federal lands are within a short drive of our school? Within 20-50 minutes we will be wandering the forest or hiking in a canyon formed by a volcanic eruption, even dipping our feet in a cool stream. Join us this summer in exploring your federal lands and learning about the natural and human history of our lands. Our final day includes fulfilling service work with a local organization.

There will be excursions off campus for educational and experiential purposes. Field Trip Permission will be required.

Week 5 – Comic Book Creations
July 14 – July 18 Cost of Camp $350
Dive into the colorful world of superheroes, villains, characters and their epic stories. This camp encourages creativity through the art of comic book creation. Campers will learn story development, artistic skills, and teamwork, fostering an environment where young imaginations can soar as they realize their own comic book creations.

Week 6 – Improv Theater Camp
July 21 – July 25 Cost of Camp $350
Welcome to a playful world of imagination and spontaneity! In this camp, young adventurers will explore the basics of improvisational theater through fun games and exercises designed just for them. Campers will build confidence, enhance their creativity, and learn to think on their feet as they engage in lively activities that emphasize teamwork and communication.

Week 7 – Bilingual Farm Camp
July 28 – August 1 Cost of Camp $350
The Bilingual Farm Camp will offer an immersive summer experience where kids explore local farms around Santa Fe, learning about sustainability, permaculture, and agriculture. Through hands-on activities like planting, harvesting, and animal care, campers gain a deeper understanding of where their food comes from while practicing Spanish vocabulary related to farming and general conversation. They’ll develop valuable skills in both farming and language, all while fostering a love for the environment.
