Investigation Camps
For children ages 9-11 entering 4th-6th Grade in the fall. Arts & Sciences offers fun and affordable summer camps that embody our school culture of honoring the whole child – cognitive, social and emotional development. Camps are led by experienced teachers and groups are divided by age. Camp activities are uniquely designed to meet the abilities and interests of each age group to foster a memorable summer camp experience.
CAMP TIMES: Monday through Friday 9:00am-3:00pm.
Before Care 8:00am-9:00am
After Care 3:00pm-6:00pm
COST: Camps are $370 per week with no additional fees for materials. ECECD Child Care Assistance subsidies accepted.
Week 1 – Cache Quest: Geocaching
June 8 – June 12 Cost of Camp: $370
Geo-what?! Geocaching is a worldwide treasure hunt that utilizes GPS, a keen eye, and a bit of hiking. Spend a week finding tiny treasures in interesting places ranging from around our own town to the Turquoise Trail and the Sandia Crest. With a different destination every day, let us guide you through special hands-on experiences in exploring our town as well as public lands in our own backyards!
There will be excursions off campus for educational and experiential purposes. Field Trip Permission will be required.
Week 2 – Backyard Battles
June 15 – June 19 Cost of Camp: $370
Summer is a time for playing outside! Have you ever wondered what outdoor games you can play with everyday objects, like a can or a soda cap? Each day, we will explore new games, some passed down through generations, that you can take back to your neighborhood and play with your friends. We will also learn new twists on time-tested games you already know. Campers will even use their imagination to create a game of their own!
There will be excursions off campus for educational and experiential purposes. Field Trip Permission will be required.
Week 3 – Math Playground
June 22 – June 26 Cost of Camp: $370
Math isn’t just about numbers—it’s a playground for imagination, discovery, and creativity! In this hands-on and thought-provoking camp, young mathematicians will explore the beauty of math through games, puzzles, art, and other creative tasks. Campers will tackle intriguing problems that reveal mathematical patterns, unexpected surprises, and deep connections to the world around us. By working together in small groups, sharing ideas, and thinking outside the box, they’ll build confidence in problem-solving and develop a new appreciation for math as an exciting, creative endeavor. This is the perfect camp for curious minds who love to explore, question, and play with ideas!
Week 4 – Local Explorers: Adventure Camp
July 6 – July 10 Cost of Camp $370
Do you know that thousands of acres of amazing federal lands are within a short drive of Arts and Sciences? Within 20-50 minutes, we will wander the forest or hike in a canyon formed by a volcanic eruption, even dip our feet in a cool stream, and climb around ancient structures. Join us this summer in exploring all about New Mexico, the land of enchantment.
There will be excursions off campus for educational and experiential purposes. Field Trip Permission will be required.
Week 5 – Ghibli World Camp
July 13 – July 17 Cost of Camp: $370
Step into the magical worlds of Studio Ghibli! Campers will spend the week exploring the enchanting settings, characters, and stories from beloved Ghibli films. Each day is filled with hands-on adventures — cooking whimsical dishes, learning songs and games from the films, drawing, crafting, and discovering little pieces of the languages featured on screen. As the week unfolds, campers will help transform their space into a fully immersive Ghibli-inspired world, culminating in a joyful celebration on the last day. Highlights include preparing the final day’s party and navigating Sparrow’s Haunted House Maze, all set amidst the charming, playful, and imaginative magic of Ghibli.
Week 6 – Robo Creators
July 20 – July 24 Cost of Camp: $370
What kind of robot will you create? In this open-ended robotics camp, campers will dream up, design, and build their own unique robotic projects! Using sensors, motors, Lego blocks, and programming, they’ll bring their ideas to life—whether it’s a robotic pet, a machine that completes a task, or something totally unexpected. Along the way, campers will explore engineering, coding, and problem-solving while working in a supportive and collaborative environment. With guidance and feedback, they’ll refine their designs and showcase their creations in a final robotics expo. This camp is perfect for young inventors, tinkerers, and problem-solvers who love to think big and build something awesome!
Week 7 – Game Time
July 27 – July 31 Cost of Camp $370
Creativity and competition! Explore games help to develop collaboration, critical thinking, reasoning, and other essential skills through fun and play. In Game Time camp, we begin by exploring games we love, play group favorites, and learn new games as well. Our games are played both inside and outside. We focus on collaboration and sportsmanship as we explore different games from around the world. We incorporate creativity, movement, and strategy. We may even invent a new game!
