Discovery Camps (ages 7, 8 & 9)
Arts & Sciences offers fun and affordable summer camps that embody our school culture of honoring the whole child – cognitive, social and emotional development. Camps are led by experienced teachers and groups are divided by age. Camp activities are uniquely designed to meet the abilities and interests of each age group to foster a memorable summer camp experience.

With summer on the horizon, and after careful review of available information concerning restrictions imposed due to COVID-19, we have decided to cancel our on-site summer camps scheduled for the month of June. Visit our Summer Camp Homepage HERE for further information.
CAMP TIMES: Monday through Friday 9am-3pm. Beforecare (8:00 am – 9:00 am) and Aftercare (3:00 pm – 5:30 pm) are available for an additional charge.
COST: Discovery camps are $230 per week with no additional fees for materials. Funds through CYFD are accepted. Scholarships are available. Download Financial Aid Application PDF
Week 1 – Reading is Magic
June 1 – June 5
Reading is Magic (RIM) is a free summer and afterschool reading program for students in the Santa Fe Public Schools. It is a collaboration between our school and Reading Quest, a nonprofit organization dedicated to children’s literacy.
Week 2 – Comic Book Creations
June 8 – June 12
Doodles consuming the pages of your school notebooks? Make them into a full fledged story illustration! In this exciting camp students will explore what a great comic book looks like, then expand their ideas to develop characters, illustrate their stories, and create their very own comic strips!
Week 3 – Super Pow! Camp
June 15 – June 19
There’s a superhero hidden within all of us. Bring out your own inner superhero and realize your utmost powers even as you maintain your mild-mannered secret identity. Complete our superhero training to become a certified superhero complete with unique skills and strengths. Test your powers against supervillains and restore the balance of good on Earth.
Week 4 – Mystery Machine

Have you ever wanted to be in a Scooby Doo episode? Something is afoot, and it’s up to you to figure it out! Put on your sleuth hat to unearth clues, analyze the evidence and reveal the true secret lurking behind the big week-long mystery.
July 6 – July 10
Mix, create, investigate! Make hypotheses, experiment with wild concoctions, test the laws of physics…In this camp we’ll employ the concepts of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) learning to take thoughtful risks, engage in experiential learning, persist in problem-solving, embrace collaboration, and work through the creative process.
Week 6 – Jedi Rising

Is the Force strong within you? Awaken your senses through rigorous Jedi training and master the force for good. Unleash your skills and your wit against evil, using your own custom lightsaber to battle the Empire’s most feared warriors. We need your help, young Padawan. Do you have what it takes to look evil in the eye?
Week 7 – Slime
July 20 – July 24
Become a slime-making pro! Like cooking, but way more fun! Whether it glitters or glows, bounces or snaps, learn unique slime recipes in Slime Factory camp. Stretch, twist, and squish all kinds of crazy ingredients together and watch them transform into your favorite fidget toy… slime!
Week 8 – Pokémon
July 27 – July 31
Become a Pokémon master! Learn about Pokémon and design your own Pokémon characters and set of trading cards. Make your own Poke Balls and and capture wild Pokémon to train. We will play our own version of Pokémon Go, searching for different species residing in different areas of the campus. Come and learn about metamorphosis and have a blast sequencing Pokémon battles. Don’t miss your opportunity to “catch them all!”
Week 8 – Geo-What?!
SPECIAL AGE CAMP (Campers entering 3rd-6th grade only)
July 27 – July 31
Geo-what?! Geocaching is a worldwide treasure hunt that utilizes GPS, a good set of eyes and a bit of hiking around. Spend a week finding tiny treasure in interesting places ranging from our town to the Turquoise Trail and the Sandia Crest. With a degree in Anthropology, Andrew has worked in the field for 11 years, and spent two seasons doing historic preservation with the Rocky Mountain Youth Corps. With a different destination every day, let Andrew share his special hands-on experience in exploring our town as well as Federal land in our own backyards!
