Discovery Camps (ages 7, 8 & 9)

Arts & Sciences offers fun and affordable summer camps that embody our school culture of honoring the whole child – cognitive, social and emotional development. Camps are led by experienced teachers and groups are divided by age. Camp activities are uniquely designed to meet the abilities and interests of each age group to foster a memorable summer camp experience. With theme Explorations in ancient Egypt, solving a mystery, slime making, Greek mythology, Pokemon, chemistry experiments, and Hogwarts.  We have something for everyone!

Our 7-week program runs June 10 through August 2 (no camp the week of July 4th).

CAMP TIMES: Monday through Friday 9am-3pm. Beforecare (8:00 am – 9:00 am) and Aftercare (3:00 pm – 5:30 pm) are available for an additional charge.

COST: Discovery camps are $230 per week with no additional fees for materials. Funds through CYFD are accepted. Scholarships are available. Download Financial Aid Application PDF

Week 1 – Walk Like an Egyptian

 June 10 – June 14

Imagine you lived thousands of years ago in ancient Egypt.  Living among the pyramids, what would your life be like?  Come learn through art activities, games and play what it was like to live in the days of the pharaohs!  Mary

Week 2 – Who Done It?

 June 17 – June 21

Do you see yourself as a sharp-eyed private investigator, capable of thoroughly examining evidence, checking all the facts, and coming to a sound conclusion?  If the answer is “yes”, then this camp is for you! From dusting for fingerprints to analyzing handwriting, this camp will teach you the tricks of the trade that help you solve the week-long mystery.  Mary

Week 3 – Slime Factory

 June 24 – June 28

Become a slime-making pro! Stretch, twist, and squish all kinds of crazy ingredients together and watch them transform into your favorite slime concoctions! Whether it glitters or glows, bounces or snaps, learn unique slime recipes in Slime Factory camp! Mary

Week 4 – On Mount Olympus

 July 8 – July 12

The world needs more heroes! In this camp learn the real story behind the Greek myths and join the lineup as you embody your favorite God or Goddess. This camp is an active literary summer camp inspired by Percy Jackson and Early Myths by Dr. Simon Spence. Mythological stories of gods and goddesses, monsters and heroes will leap off the page into our camp adventures and build the framework for discovering the hero within us all. Mary

Week 5 –Pokémon

 July 15 – July 19

Become a Pokémon master! Learn about Pokémon and design your own Pokémon characters and set of trading cards. Make your own Poke Balls and and capture wild Pokémon to train. We will play our own version of Pokémon Go, searching for different species residing in different areas of the campus. Come and learn about metamorphosis and have a blast sequencing Pokémon battles. Week 6 -Mad Scientist

 July 22 – July 26

Week 7 – Hogwarts

 July 29 – August 2

Harry Potter had never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters started dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. On Harry’s eleventh birthday he discovered he was a wizard and had a place a Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Now you will discover your own wizard gifts as you join Harry at school in an incredible Hogwarts adventure. Mary
