Imagine That! Camps
For children ages 5 and 6 entering Kindergarten – 1st Grade in the fall. Arts & Sciences offers fun and affordable summer camps that embody our school culture of honoring the whole child – cognitive, social and emotional development. Camps are led by experienced teachers and groups are divided by age. Camp activities are uniquely designed to meet the abilities and interests of each age group to foster a memorable summer camp experience.
CAMP TIMES: Monday through Friday 9am-3pm. Beforecare (8:30am-9:00am) and Aftercare (3pm-5pm) are available for an additional charge.
COST: Imagine That! camps are $325 per week with no additional fees for materials. Financial aid is available. ECECD subsidies accepted.
Week 1 – Under the Sea
June 10 – June 14 CAMP IS FULL

Dive deep into this underwater exploration! We will study underwater sea life and bring some of those watery creatures to life: sculpt a sea urchin, create an ocean mobile, and engage in seashell art. Using a variety of textured paper and found materials, we’ll create magical waves of color.

Week 2 – Carnival Camp: Under the Big Top

Hurry, hurry! Step right up! Campers will participate in carnival classics including bean bag toss, guessing games, potato sack racing, and many more! This week will be full of engaging science experiments, crafts, and activities to give campers the experience of a carnival right here at camp!

Week 3 – Fairies and Dragons

Come with us on a mythical journey as we learn about the magical worlds of fairies, dragons, unicorns, and more! Campers will have a chance to create their own magical world and make up a magical creature. We will engage in some fairytale songs and games as well as explore a variety of art materials, projects, and so much more.

Week 4 – Music and Movement Camp

In this movement and dance camp, we explore movements from head to toe and wiggle our way through the summer. Come learn how our bodies move and groove as we listen to a variety of music. We play fun and easy instruments and even build our own!

Week 5 – Space Camp

Set your eyes to the skies as we explore our solar system. Blast off into a fun week of space exploration! We’ll learn all about the planets and our sun and moon. We’ll study the stars that make up our night sky and even create rockets out of recycled materials to see how far into the stratosphere we can travel.

Week 6 – Bird Camp – Birds of a Feather

Fly with us to learn all about birds! Did you know birds do cool things that engineers use to create and discover? Learn about the birds of New Mexico and their habitats, migratory bird behaviors, and many amazing bird facts. Design a bird feeder, make birdseed balls, and artfully create bird likenesses in this flighty camp.

Week 7 – Recycled Art Camp
July 29 – August 2 CAMP IS FULL

Let’s get one more use out of household items we’d normally scrap and create amazing works of art. This earth-friendly camp will change the way we look at recyclable and non-recyclable materials. Just imagine how yesterday’s garbage will transform our walls in this inventive exploration. Create a colorful egg carton bouquet, cereal box bookmarker, and even an upcycled bug sculpture.
